Bolton Location Considerations
26 Queen Street South Bolton, ON | L7E 1B3

We’re located beside Allegro Restaurant just between King & Elizabeth Street, or a 2-minute walk from Tim Hortons.

To get to our building:

  • Plan to arrive early as we have limited studio parking. If the studio lot is full, there is access to street parking or the Tim Hortons lot. Members are not allowed to park on Allegro Restaurant’s side of the parking lot.

Accessibility Considerations

The Aura House Bolton is located in a Historic home. It is important to know our building is not accessible. Although we have plans to improve its accessibility to the best of our ability.

  • The parking lot is unpaved

  • There are steps from the parking lot to the front entrance, a step into the home, and 2 sets of stairs to get to the Loft. The stairs to the Loft are narrow and steep. Given it is a home, there is no elevator or lift available.

  • The washroom is not accessible.

Land acknowledgements

Our Bolton studio is located in a historic home that was built in 1905. Originally the home of a blacksmith, then electrician … the space is one where energy has always been put to work.

The land on which we operate in Bolton is also part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

Given its Edwardian architecture, we acknowledge the home’s colonial presence on the Territory of the Petun, Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, and Haudenosaunee peoples.

Our role in the home now comes with an intention for repair, and reducing any further harm to both the land and those who soulfully inhabited it long before us.

Our Brampton studio is located in a historic downtown building that used to be a shoe factory. You can still see the splatters of shoe leather dye on our floors.

The land on which we operate is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular, we acknowledge the Territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibwe/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

At The Aura House, we are grateful to have the opportunity to work, gather, and operate on these lands, and in so doing, give our utmost respect to its first inhabitants.
